Nací en 1940. Soy testigo de excepción de la revolución digital. Vi nacer y desarrollarse la Era Digital. Para millardos de seres humanos lo digital es un FACTUM, simplemente ES… y por ejemplo, programar y utilizar de primera mano diversísimos equipos basados en la informática, en lo digital, es sencillamente algo que el hombre de hoy sabe hacer. Esto responde a la realidad tecnológica de los últimos años. Digamos, en forma general, desde hace unos cuarenta años para acá.
Mi intención es establecer un testimonio del paso de lo analógico a lo digital, del surgimiento de las nuevas tecnologías en todos los ámbitos y muy específicamente en el mundo de las comunicaciones, lo acaecido en fotografía, cine, televisión y video, hechos que he vivenciado y experimentado con conocimiento de causa por mi quehacer profesional y pedagógico.
El hombre requirió de milenios para inventar la rueda y con ella revolucionar los medios de transportar los objetos y las personas y de muchos siglos adicionales para llegar a inventar la fotografía, el telégrafo, el teléfono, la radio, el cine, el video, los computadores… y pasar de la técnica a las nuevas tecnologías basadas en lo digital, lo numérico, los ceros y unos 00.11.00
¿Inventar o Descubrir? En el descubrimiento los hechos existen ya de antemano, y es la inteligencia del hombre la que los detecta, los observa, los busca, los correlaciona, hasta que encuentra algo nuevo, ¡EUREKA! puede exclamar. El descubrimiento lleva al vocablo griego, pero el hecho es preexistente y el hombre lo que hace es encontrarlo. Cristóbal Colón descubrió todo un continente y en su momento ni siquiera supo la magnitud de su hazaña. América existía desde siempre, sólo que fue él quien la hizo conocer.
La invención es otra cosa, va mucho mas allá. Invención es creación, es partir de nada para llegar a algo. Es lo que ha pasado con la aparición de la computadora, con la programación digital, con las nuevas tecnologías de la comunicación y las telecomunicaciones, con la computación gráfica, con todo el universo multimedia. Se han inventado en los últimos cuarenta años los medios digitales.
Es una revolución, la digital, la cual nos toca y nos está tocando a todos los que hoy habitamos el planeta Tierra. Bien somos sus usuarios, o bien sus inventores, sus creadores, y aquellos que aún no los usan, de una u otra forma son sus testigos o al menos contemporáneos. La humanidad del presente está inmersa en la Era Digital. Los medios digitales son una invención del hombre. No existían antes de él. La fórmula, si así podríamos llamarla, de que a partir de combinaciones numéricas de ceros y unos se desarrollasen equipos básicos en un inicio, ha ido llevando al que diariamente aparezcan nuevos equipos cada vez mas sofisticados.
En síntesis: Con estas nuevas tecnologías se logra la integración -con equipos, aparatos por cierto cada vez de
mas pequeño tamaño- de las nuevas y muy diversas funciones y capacidades que cada uno de los medios de
comunicación ha ido logrando, a lo largo de su paulatino desarrollo.

I intend to establish a testimony of the transition from analog to digital, of the emergence of new technologies in all areas and very specifically in the world of communications, and what has happened in photography, cinema, television, video, facts that I have experienced with knowledge of the cause for my professional and
pedagogical work.
The man required millennia to invent the wheel and with it revolutionize the means of transporting objects and people and many additional centuries to invent photography, the telegraph, the telephone, the radio, the cinema, the video, the computers… and move from technique to new technologies based on digital, numerical, zeros and some 00.11.00
Invent or Discover? In discovery, facts already exist beforehand, and it is man's intelligence that detects them, observes them, searches for them, and correlates them until he finds something new, EUREKA! can exclaim. The discovery leads to the Greek word, but the fact is pre-existing and what man does is find it. Christopher Columbus discovered an entire continent and at the time he did not even know the magnitude of his feat. America had always existed, only he was the one who made it known.
The invention is something else, it goes much further. The invention is creation, it is starting from nothing to arrive at something. This is what has happened with the appearance of the computer, with digital rogramming, the new communications technologies, telecommunications, computer graphics, with the entire multimedia universe. Digital media have been invented in the last forty years.
It is a revolution, the digital one, which touches us and is touching all of us who inhabit planet Earth today. We are either its users, or its inventors, its creators, and those who still do not use them, in one way or another are its witnesses or at least contemporaries. Present humanity is immersed in the Digital Age. Digital media is an invention of man. They did not exist before him. The formula, if we could call it that, that basic equipment was initially developed from numerical combinations of zeros and ones, has led to the appearance of new, increasingly sophisticated equipment daily.
In short: With these new technologies, the integration is achieved -with equipment, devices of course that are
increasingly smaller in size- of the new and very diverse functions and capabilities that each of the media has been achieving, throughout the years. its gradual development.
